Ten Strengths and Weaknesses of my first professional game

Hello. I've just finished my first game for my new company, and I thought that I'd go through some of the strengths and weaknesses of Carrier Artang and see if I can find some areas where I can improve for next time. Strengths first:

  • I finished exactly on time; neither early nor late.
  • I added all of the features that were absolutely necessary.
  • The game worked.
  • The game got good reviews.
  • Everything about the game was made by me.
  • I promoted the game well.
  • I'm ahead of most other game creators, in that I finished it and it worked.
  • I have something that I can use as a showpiece.
  • I have many more skills that I can use in the future.
  • I got my Unity game dev course.

And, as promised, here are ten weaknesses to Carrier Artang:

  • The game was boring and uncool.
  • The game did have at least one bug.
  • The game was on a defunct platform.
  • There were no real animations.
  • There was a lot of spaghetti code.
  • I had a Trace statement locked in there that I didn't remove.
  • I didn't get First Page.
  • I didn't get any written reviews and my score was less than a 2.50 out of 5.
  • The graphics were flat and uninteresting.
  • I was lacking a lot of basic AS3 skills when I started.
