Ten steps to my first game sale

 Here are the ten steps to my first game sale as a game designer. I tried to keep everything in chronological order, however it may not be. However, these are the ten steps. I hope they help you along your journey:

  • Create a high-quality plan.
  • Create a compelling game design.
  • Develop the game (combine assets with code).
  • Test the game.
  • Send out the demo
  • Get feedback. 
  • Use the feedback and the tests to improve the game. 
  • Polish the game. 
  • Publish the game. 
  • Market the game. 

These steps were in alphabetical order, though they did not allow for repetition. It's not easy to develop a game, nor is releasing a finished game guaranteed to make one successful as a game designer. By using these best practices, however, you can mitigate disasters.
