Ten reasons not to commit suicide
February 28th was the 5-year anniversary of the day when someone close to me committed suicide. It wasn't totally unexpected, but still a surprise. Here are ten reasons why someone should not commit suicide:
- People don't miss people that much in real life.
- You're forfeiting 40 to 60 years of life. Is what happened worth more than 60 years of life?
- Suicide is never simple or easy.
- Suicide is extremely painful.
- Suicide creates more problems.
- Suicide doesn't solve anything.
- The painful parts of life can be fun.
- The people around you don't want you to live a happy life.
- Every day it gets a little easier (life satisfaction peaks at 80).
- The tools used to commit suicide cost a lot of money and are difficult to obtain.
- (bonus) If you kill yourself, it means that you're extremely successful.
These are the ten main ones that I came up with. Let me know what you think.
