Five steps to success
My goal in life is to have a net worth of 1.1 million dollars. If I can achieve that, then I will technically be set for life. I did not set a timeline for this, because multiple success mentors have said that, for the bigger goals, or goals which require lots of creativity, it's best not to set a definite deadline. Plus, I'm sort of waffly on deadlines. I meet them, but still don't like them. It could take me until I'm ninety-three to achieve that goal, but it's my goal. Here are the five steps that I will use to achieve my goal.
- Read every day.
- Write every day.
- Network.
- Keep business and personal expenses separate.
- Sell quality products and services at a fair price.
This list is not exhaustive, but I feel as though I'm getting the hang of it. Life is not easy. It takes a very tough person to succeed. That's not an excuse for failure, but I'm learning. I want to succeed so badly that I'm willing to risk failure. These are the five risks that you take when you say you want to be successful:
- Bankruptcy (poverty, homelessness).
- Ridicule.
- Physical injury or death (inc. suicide).
- Professional or personal liability.
- Incarceration (insider trading, etc.)
I see all of these risks and I face them wholeheartedly. I am willing to face these risks because life is the only experience worth preserving. I may never achieve my goal. I may have to spend years, even decades in abject poverty before I even have a chance at succeeding. But it's better than being what people want and expect me to be...
